Another Movie review from your friend Trampis.

Open Range is a western directed and starring Kevin Costner. Also starring is Robert Duvall and Annete Benning.

Duvall and Costner are "Free grazers",meaning they herd there cattle around, and let them eat on public lands whereever.

After one of there hands is roughed up in town for being a freegrazer,Duvall and Costner must take matters into there own hands to protect there honor and right to free graze.

Annette has a nurse roll, and is Costner's love interest in the film.Simple roll for her and she does it fine.

Duvall is Duvall,he delivers his lines with nobility and some badassidness.

Costner IMO does well. The girlfriend thought he looked rough, and he did,but thats what the part called for.He plays a guy that has past demons, yet has nobility and dignity. And in the end hes a badass.

The ending gunfight is one of the best Ive seen in a long time.

Trampis and Date give it

heh heh.... there's something about kevin costner
that rubs me the wrong way.

don't get me wrong, i've seen plenty of his stuff
and most of it i can tolerate. but i think that
costner truly believes he is a thespian of a higher
art... which he undoubtedly isn't.

i dunno. it just seems like he has that air about
him. maybe its my bias.

i'd definitely like to see the movie... but
only cuz of the trampis rating.

I can see how they would be uncomfortable. Shoot, the ones we have here are made of that itchy, scratchy material and if I sit in one of those seats longer than an hour, when I get up my ass hurts. Looks like with ticket prices, concession prices and everything else they would make more comfortable chairs. That's the least they could do.

Why can't they make a seat that reclines? I would go down in a heartbeat if they did im sure. I'm always looking for a way to get comfortable at the theatre. Feet up. Feet down. To the left... to the right.

That's it.... they need special seat and a half or double seaters for us chunks.

My mom and dad saw it and said it was really good, and they do not go to the movies alot so it has to be good to get them out of the house to a theater to see it. My dad loves westerns more than anything anyway. I kinda wanna see this movie.

I know what you mean about Costner Shatzy. He split up with his wife awhile back and kind of took on a playboy,"hey look at me babes,Im a moviestar" attitude.

And hes been cracked pretty good in the media for his lackluster Postman and Waterworld movies.I commend him for trying to make grand movies, but they were only soso.

In this movie he's dead serious all the time,he really plays the part of a true cowboy well I think.Hes sweaty and dirty, nothing flashy at all, just a quiet tough guy.
